Eaton served on Tri-Valley Conservancy’s Board as an at-large Director from 2001-2009 and currently is on the Finance and Land Conservation Committees. He received a B.A. at Brandeis University and his J.D. at Stanford University.   He practiced general civil litigation law for 12 years prior to his appointment to the Alameda County Courts in 1976.  He retired from the bench in 1999 and has been a private judge acting as a mediator and arbitrator since that time.  He has served as an at-large director of Tri-Valley Conservancy since 2001.  He also serves as a Director of the Axis Community Health Center and the Livermore Granada Boosters.

Judge Eaton resides in Livermore with his wife, Joyce, and is the father of Scott who is an OBGYN practicing in Livermore and Pleasanton, and Joshua, who is the Executive Assistant United States Attorney in San Francisco.
